A Visit to Doon Heritage Village Kitchener Ontario Canada

Peter Martin Farm....
                of the Woolwich Mennonites

I am having trouble with my Blogger..It has changed!!! I am having trouble finding my way around a new format, so I decided to use some old picture files, from a visit to a living museum a few years back, so that I can learn how this new format works!!!  (sigh)

"Mennonites from Pennsylvania were among the first settlers of Waterloo County. The plain, unadorned interior of this house reflects their simple, unworldly approach to living.
Peter Martin House: Originally located in Waterloo Township, Waterloo County. Constructed around 1820. Original owner, Peter Martin. Gift of the Waterloo Regional Heritage Foundation, 1974...."caption taken  from:

The re-enacting guides did a marvelous job explaining life on the Farm
in a different age.

This cook stove reminds me of the one tha Tasha Tudor used to use!

The Red cupboard has
a lovely unique painted finish.

On the second floor are the bedrooms...
