HAPPY BIRTHDAY IZANNAH WALKER ~ 200 YEAR Bicentenial

On November 4th 1873 a patent was filed

and Izannah Walker became

the first woman to receive an U.S. patent !!

Her invention was a mold

that could produce a

very special doll!!

Betany Bounty, Patience Faithfully,

and Freedom Liberty

are planning a lovely picnic in her honor!

A perfect day and there were

many wild flowers to collect!

 And the table to be set for tea and lunch,

and some crafts were to be made!

Joyfully the girls worked in

anticipation of a sweet feast!!

Betany Bountiful

became a bit lonely

when she came to live,

so she got some dollies

But this was only a distraction

and she still felt lonely

and longed for a real baby sister!

Sweet little Baby Iddy~Pim

came and it made her very happy!!

Sometimes Betany got to babysit

sweet Noel a very special doll !

Then she found a Best Friend 

named Freedom Liberty

and this gave her much joy!!

 They love to play and dream together !!

But soon Betany found out that she

had a cousin that was all the way from

Australia, she was beside herself!! 

Patience Faithfully came to live

and there was much joy,

and many things in common!!

Happiness indeed!

want to wish a Happy Birthday

200 years to Izannah Walker

and thank her for paving the way for women!!

The Mousiekins enjoy visiting with the girls!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TASHA TUDOR CELEBRATION with MOMMY!

Monday August 28th was 

Author Illustrator Tasha Tudor's

102nd Birthday!

Mommy said;

"This is a perfect excuse for a celebration"!! 

And so we did!! 

It is FUN to bring out the linens,

and the fancy china

and wash them shiny clean!!

Tasha took great pride

in her baking and cooking skills

and so do Mommy and I!

We started early preparing

goodies for a feast

Tasha loved to be surrounded

by flowers from her beautiful

abundant garden and always

had cut flowers near by!

And outside here provided us with

plenty of flowers to bring in

for the celebration!

Mommy wanted to read

books about Tasha and

to wear a Laura Ashley Frock!!

“Why do women want to dress like men when they’re fortunate enough to be women? Why lose our femininity, which is one of our greatest charms? We get much more accomplished by being charming than we would by flaunting around in pants and smoking. I’m very fond of men. I think they’re wonderful creatures. I love them dearly. But I don’t want to look like one. When women gave up their long skirts, they made a grave error. Things half seen are so much more mysterious and delightful. Remember the term “a neatly turned ankle”? Think of the thrill that gentleman used to get if they caught even a glimpse of one. Now women go around in their union suits. And what a multitude of sins you could cover up with a long skirt if you had piano legs.”
