Celebrating Tasha Tudor
100 years!
August 28, 1915-June 18, 2008
After a HEAVY rain....
(that almost floated us away in the night)
..among a deep and heavy MIST
...deep beyond, along a narrow road....
..in the morning along a quite trail....
....a gathering occurred...
...a celebration of sorts...
....of JOY
and remembrance ...
With a fill of thrills..
..and miles...
...... of smiles...
and a lot of "Wellies" ......
aprons and dresses....
......and lots of "umbrellies" !!!
There was joyous chatter....
...and lots of laughter!!
Hugs and Reunions ...
for a joint celebration!!
All in anticipation ....
...of a special tour!!
(Marjorie and Seth Tudor)
The Tudor family
were obliging and real,
among wondrous surroundings
with such lovely appeal

Awaiting important instructions..
as we all gathered around
we were all on our way.... we were Corgi Cottage bound!!!
But before this occurred
we took time first to see...
A place that is known
for some "crows", if you please,
after "they" it was named
quite simply you see...
it was named by Miss Tasha
"The ROOKERY"!!
And in there the dolls waited
so pretty to see,
all lovingly hand crafted
by an artist named Marjorie
Marjorie Tudor (artist)
Inside there were goodies..
...and a chair bought by
Laurie.
aprons and books,
and sweet little corgis!
And Alicia brought along,
some neat things to show....
..some things that inspired
Tasha's
"Laura in the snow"!

There were "Tudors" about
(Brenna)
so lovely and sweet
from cute mini doggies
to petite little feet
A BOOK by one so special...

(example from my garden)
Soon we were walking
with the sun peeking
Through...
past ferns and July flowers
all drenched and anew!
(memory sketch by me)
Leaving my boots at the door
with bare feet entering in,
to a place that is cheerful
familiar and warm
There were things on the wall
all collected through time
upon beams that were hand hewn
by Tasha's own son
Then on through long hallways
the Butt'ry the kitchen...
the bathroom, the parlor
the library the
bedroom..
((Tasha posed at 16 for a sculpture artist ))
We went upstairs,
then downstairs
then back through
the barn,
and then we met
Winslow and
went out to the garden!!

Beloved, I wish above all things
that thou mayest prosper
and be in health,
even as thy soul prospereth.

The DOLL FAIR!!
(Linda winner of the Golden Key for the favorite booth)!
Soon we were gathered
for the rest of that night,
while the full moon planned..
to rise high
and pink bright !
(Famous Hitty Moms!!)
Ladies became "re-incarnated"
to "children" again....
..with a DOLL FAIR and dollies
and crafts, games and
GREAT FUN!!!
The Dolls brought their wares
and for BUTTONS were sold..
((buttons for ALL))!!
...such SWEET little
trinkets loved by ALL
young and old!!
There was mischief and playing...
and plenty of sweets,
Everyone there,
got a "go"
at the treats!!
And the crafts were so fun,
we thought it so clever,
we took so much home,
it could not have been better!!
And then soon came a time
when some
DOLLS arrived,
Made lovingly by
artists and crafters alike

((read about the "Tudor Dolls"
in Doll News, Spring 2014))
...they brought tears to some eyes
and other's sweet laughter!
( "A is fore Anna Bell" Dolls by Kristen Strand)
But that is not all,
There were good things
to eat...
and the
hand churned ice-cream
was really a treat!
( photo by Christie Jones Ray)
Some men got together...
and took turns with ease...
and the ice-cream was
delectable
and all were pleased!!
The Mousiekins and Eliza
were in on it too
they visited and played
till there was no more to do!!
Happy 100th Birthday to
Tasha Tudor!!
Who keeps on
inspiring so many
to
"Take JOY"!!
