hidden off in a quiet corner...

APOTHECARY ....
....filled with aromas,
dried herbs and flowers,
roots and oils....
a place to spend hours..
packed with books and formulas...
...a place of collections and travels,
of imaginations,
and explorations,
of memories and marvels...
...a place to study..
to meditate...
and to dream and plan...
to ponder and HOPE

The old apothecary's shop is a wonderous place
With boxes, tins and jars filling the shelves
And an battered chest of drawers full of marvellous smells
There's one bay window in which stand
Four of those strange tall tapered bottles
Green, blue, red and amber
In a cupboard and under the counter,
He reluctantly keeps a few modern items
For his more regular customers
Such as cotton wool, tissues, asprin and alka selters
With boxes, tins and jars filling the shelves
And an battered chest of drawers full of marvellous smells
There's one bay window in which stand
